The Kailmeyra Chronicles: Book Three—
Following Nora and Gavin’s defeat of the Dokkalfar, the kingdom has flourished and brought hope to its people.

But looks can be deceiving.

Like wisps of death, darker emotions seep into unexpected places. Now the nighttime holds fresh horrors for Gavin as Nora’s visions of the future invade her dreams. Though Nora can’t remember them, she knows Gavin sees her mind as clearly as his own. Noticing the affects her nightmares have on him, Nora warns Gavin of the dire consequences of altering fate. But she fears he’ll do whatever it takes to assure her visions don’t come true—even going against all he believes.

When Nora and Gavin discover Mia, the new Empress of the Dokkalfar, is growing stronger, they return to Earth sooner than planned. But Nora's old home isn’t what it used to be. Civilization has plunged back into the Dark Ages and the Earth is on the brink of annihilation.

As Nora and Gavin find themselves at the Edge of the World, doubt plagues them. Are they walking a path which alters fate or one elaborately planned by the enemy?

If you haven't read the Kailmeyra series, the first one is on sale this month for only $0.99!

If Nora Johnson hadn't been on campus that day she would have never known her true destiny. Helping her friends move into the dorm that she wanted to call home, Nora accidentally collides with mysterious stranger, Gavin Frey. His very first touch sends flames through her heart. The world seems different--something within her has changed.

She tries to resume her mundane life, but she is now consumed with the one whose very presence ignited her soul, the one with eyes of emerald. Nora soon learns that an energy buried deep within has been unleashed. She now wields unimaginable power and has become Gavin's source, his strength.

Her newfound joy is shaken when she discovers that Gavin is not who he appears to be, and she has been thrust in the middle of a war of mythical proportions. Negativity allows all things evil to flourish, the earth is under siege. The fate of creation hinges on the power within her heart. Will she be strong enough to survive?

A gripping tale of unbounded love and ancient power, The Light of Asteria will take you on an epic adventure filled with war, treachery, and demons, as well as unimaginable delights.

Kailmeyra's Now at Raven Key Press!

Hi all!
I'm so excited that today is the day I get to officially introduce the new Kailmeyra Series book covers. When I joined the merry band over at Raven Key Press, the first thing they requested to change were the covers. My incredible literary manager, Italia Gandolfo, submitted the request to Michael Canalas, oh-my-god-incredible-graphic-designer-extraordinaire, and boom-shacka-lacka this is what he came up with!

I absolutely ADORE the new covers! Even better, I took the opportunity to fix a few things in the books that had been bothering me, and I added a few scenes along the way.

So far the response has been overwhelmingly positive! We're still plugging away at trying to get the soft covers up and running (a logistical nightmare, but that's a post for another day :-), but hopefully we'll have them live pretty soon!

Best news is that if you purchased the ebook through Kindle, the update should automatically show up on your device. #win/win.

I'd like to take a sec and thank you all for being so supportive. Your positive feedback and encouragement is what keeps the fires burning! :-)

An update about the third in the series, The Heart of the Ancients. The cover designer is working on the jacket even as we speak, and we are starting serious rounds of editing. I promise we'll have it up and running as soon as we can!

A year of change

I can't help but feel that this next year is going to be an incredible, life-changing year. So much is happening, and it's just  January!

I'm now represented by GH Literary management, and I'm moving to Raven Key Press. We're adding a few scenes, new covers, and the entire Kailmeyra series is being polished like a brand new penny. All of this is in preparation for the third book, The Heart of the Ancients, which is slated for release this year.

To say I'm excited is an understatement. I'll keep you posted, and be sure to be looking for the new covers soon!

Here's to a life changing year!

Holiday Hullabaloo, Day #11

As you know, I'm participating in the Holiday Hullabaloo Twelve Days of Giveaways. Young Adult authors across the country have gotten together to spread a little Christmas cheer!

Be sure to check on the Mr. linky below to see the other fabulous prizes being given away, and don't forget the $200.00 gift card from either Amazon or Barnes and Noble!

I'm almost done with the first revisions of The Heart of the Ancients, Kailmeyra's Redemption. It's hard to think that this time next year this series will have come to an end. To be honest, I try not to think about it too much. I'm consoled with the thought that I've promised to write a few novellas for the supporting characters, but that's not quite the same thing.

And so, I'm offering not only the ebooks of the first two books in the series, but I'm also giving away an ARC of Ancients when it's released in 2013.

Here's the synopsis:
Book one
If Nora Johnson hadn't been on campus that day she would have never known her true destiny. Helping her friends move into the dorm that she wanted to call home, Nora accidentally collides with mysterious stranger, Gavin Frey. His very first touch sends flames through her heart. The world seems different-something within her has changed. Nora tries to resume her mundane life, but she is now consumed with the one whose very presence ignited her soul, the one with eyes of emerald. Nora soon learns that an energy buried deep within has been unleashed. She now wields unimaginable power and has become Gavin's source, his strength.

Her newfound joy is shaken when she discovers that Gavin is not who he appears to be and she has been thrust in the middle of a war of mythical proportions. Negativity has allowed all things evil to flourish, the earth is under siege. The fate of creation hinges on the power within her heart. Will she be strong enough to survive?

A gripping tale of unbounded love and ancient power, The Light of Asteria will take you on an epic adventure filled with war, treachery, and demons, as well as unimaginable delights.

Book Two

Life for Nora couldn't be better; she has married the man of her dreams and loves living in the pristine land of Kailmeyra.

That is, until the darkness threatens her perfect world.

Now war is upon the land. She and Gavin must strengthen their clan and prepare to fight. But the enemy has an ally—one that not only wields power, but holds knowledge of the ancients' secrets. Secrets that could destroy creation itself.

As the darkness grows, doubt seeps in ... protectiveness hinders progress ... and the unthinkable comes to pass.

Bewildered and alone, Nora shoulders the responsibility of leading an entire race to war. As she struggles with decisions that seem impossible to make, she is haunted by one choice.

"No one has ever doubted that you would die for those you love. The question then becomes ... would you live?"

Wordsmith Wednesday #6

Wordsmith Wednesday was started by a writing group on Chirenjenzie. Click on the pic to find out more, and be sure to join us! I'd love to see what you are writing!

Here's a scene from The Heart of the Ancients, the third and final book in the Kailmeyra series. Enjoy!

I spotted Gavin sitting by the hearth. His chestnut hair shone in the flickering light. Small flames sputtered within the dying embers. Judging by the pile of hot cinders, it looked as if he had been there quite a while. He calmly flipped the page of a large book as if he didn’t have a care in the world.

“It won’t work.” I said, making my way down the stairs. “You can’t act like nothing’s wrong. Your emotions give you away.”

He looked up with a forced grin.  “Did you rest well?”

I frowned. “You know I didn’t. My dreams kept me tossing and turning all night. And you also know I don’t remember a blessed thing.” I struggled as my frustration warred with his determination. My frustration won. “Gavin, if I knew what it was, maybe—”

He set the book down with a decided thump. “We’ve been through this, love. If you are meant to recall your dreams, you will.” He took a deep breath, determined to steer the conversation onto calmer ground. "I’ve already sent for breakfast. We’re having your favorite, pancakes.”

I steered it right back. “If you won’t talk to me, talk to Elias, Weylin … someone.”

Gavin pulled me onto his lap. One hand rested on my thigh, while the other found the soft crease of my elbow, applying just enough pressure to cause my heart to pick up its pace. He smiled, watching my expression; his desire calmed the emotional storm brewing.

I bit back a smile. “That’s not going to work either.”

"Is that a challenge?" His voice became husky as the hand on my thigh made its way to my hip.
