Reaching out to Indy Authors

I've often said that writers are some of the friendliest people in the world. I don't just mean all of the wonderful authors I've met along the way, but everyone who chooses to communicate with the written word. I've especially grown fond of bloggers. They not only have a knack for voicing their thoughts in a meaningful way, but they are openhearted folk that love to connect with others. The three listed below took time to reach out to me, to ask me to share a little about myself, and to help Nora's light shine.

If you read last week's post, you know that Jenn is one of my favorite people in the whole, round world. She is positive energy personified, and I truly am honored to consider her my friend. Jenn is having a fun contest/giveaway, and the winner gets a signed copy of "The Light of Asteria". Contest runs until July 16th. Thanks Jenn, for you enthusiasm, and your endless support to authors everywhere!

I met Jeremy on Twitter and Goodreads. He is a nineteen year old film student from South Carolina. I look forward to watching his promising future unfold, as I'm sure his love of great stories will someday be reflected on the big screen for the world to see. I was thrilled when he contacted me for some swag and a book! Jeremy's giveaway runs until July the 7th.

I'm also writing a guest post for Jessica at A Fanatics Book Blog. I met Jessica on Twitter, and I've yet to find one person that doesn't instantly liked her. Jessica lives in California, and her enthusiasm for books is contagious. You have to check out her summer beach reads challenge! Thanks again, Jessica, for the invite!

As an indy author it's easy to look at the big houses, see their endless resources, and get discouraged. It doesn't happen often, but when it does I reconnect with the people who matter most. People who have a passion for great stories and are willing to take the time to share it with others. Jenn, Jeremy, and Jessica are such three individuals, and their kindness, support, and encouragement pushes me forward, making me not only a stronger writer, but a better person as well.

  1. Aw thank you Elizabeth! *blush* Guess what I got for my birthday? One gorgeously covered book by a certain author I adore...

    Yay!

  2. I'm here to let you know a few things.

Firstly, I think all three of these bloggers are wonderful, and I'm followers of all of them.

Also, thanks once again for following my blog, as well as commenting. I love the cover of your book, too! It's so purple, and I love purple. :)

Speaking of your book, I will probably start reading it tomorrow. It's next up on my TBR (I bumped it up to the top of the list), so hopefully I can have a review up in the next few days. If the goodreads page is anything to go by, other than the cover and summary, I am going to really enjoy it!

I have a feeling there was one more thing. Hmm, anyway, have a great day!!
